Latifa shows fine form in Show Jumping Grand Prix

Shaikha Latifa Al Maktoum, from the Emirates Riding Centre, produced a flawless display to win the Show Jumping Grand Prix at the Dubai Polo and Equestrian Club.

Abu Dhabi: Shaikha Latifa Al Maktoum, from the Emirates Riding Centre, produced a flawless display to win the Show Jumping Grand Prix at the Dubai Polo and Equestrian Club.

Riding Quidam's Pride, Shaikha Latifa finished the jump-off event with no faults with a timing of 83.24 seconds.

Second place in the Grand Prix event went to Mufta Al Daheri from Ghantoot. Riding Ikea 3, he finished the round in 81.18 seconds but registered four faults.

Mohammad Al Kumaiti, from the Ajman Equestrian and Racing Centre, clinched the third place aboard Al Mutamaken.

The competition was held under the patronage of Princess Haya Bint Al Hussain, wife of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

The competitions featuring international and professional players were held at the Dubai Polo and Equestrian Club grounds as part of the official launch of the Emaar Properties development.

The competitions were part of the club's initiative to officially inaugurate the world-class equestrian facilities offered in the premises.

The company hosted a four-day polo and show jumping event which began on April 19 and concluded on April 22.

The prize money on offer was Dh15,000.

Class 5: B1, A2 (SIX BAR)
Section A: 1st place: Muftah Al Daheri, (Dreamlove, Ghantoot, no faults). 2nd places: Arif Ahmad (Peter, Emirates Riding Centre, four faults); Abdullah Humaid (Tip Top, Sharjah Equestrian and Riding Centre, four faults); Mohammad Kumaiti (Al Mutawaken, Ajman Equestrian and Racing Centre, four faults).

Section B: 1st places: Abdul Rahman Al Ka'abi (N99 Gedconti, Sharjah Equestrian and Riding Centre, no faults); Mohammad Al Hajri (Caprisio, Al Saffinat Stables, no faults).

Class 4: B2 (One Round with Jump-off): 1st place: Hamad Al Kirbi (Genial IV, Sharjah Equestrian and Riding Centre, 35.72 seconds). 2nd place: Ali Al Kumaiti (Salsabeel, Ajman Equestrian and Riding Centre, 36.06 seconds). 3rd place: Shaikh Majid Al Qasimi (Kalyso, Sharjah Equestrian and Riding Centre, 39.56 seconds).

Class 3: C1 (One Round with jump-off): 1st place: Salim Khamis Al Suwaidi (Iris de Rougier, Sharjah Equestrian and Riding Centre, 52.92 seconds). 2nd place: Shaikh Ali Al Qasimi (Clam de Jones, Sharjah Equestrian and Riding Centre, 56.95 seconds).  3rd place: Shaikh Shakhboot Al Nahyan (Emirates Heritage Club, Cool Fox and Kereman, 57.70 seconds).
