Latifa hopes to gain experience from Doha trip

Doha: Shaikha Latifa Bint Ahmad Bin Maktoum Al Maktoum, who will participate in the equestrian jumping individual and team events said that she has come to Doha to obtain experience.

"My main objective from participating in the 15th Asian Games is to gain experience.

"I like if I win a medal, but it is a long way to go and this is my first participation in a strong tournament like the Asian Games," said Shaikha Latifa after her first training session at the Qatari equestrian jumping arena in Doha yesterday.

Abdullah Humaid, Mohammad Abdullah Al Kumaity, Abdullah Al Merri, Mohammad Rashid Al Suwaidi, the UAE equestrian team members took part in the training session with Shaikha Latifa.

"I am proud that I am taking part in a strong event which will witness the participation of strong countries like Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Indonesia, which will add to my experience," said Shaikha Latifa.

In preparing for the Asian Games Shaikha Latifa had held a three-month training camp in France.
