Khan and Aldeep take Ramadan squash titles

Aamer Khan and Moataz Aldeep won the Open and Plate finals in the 12th Le Meridian Ramadan Squash competitions on Saturday.

Abu Dhabi: Aamer Khan and Moataz Aldeep won the Open and Plate finals in the 12th Le Meridian Ramadan Squash competitions on Saturday.

In the final Aamer Khan lost the first game 8-11 to Mohsin Moosa.

But he then rallied to take the next three games and the Open title at the Le Meridian Squash Courts. He won 8-11, 11-5, 11-9 and 11-3.

Earlier in the semifinal Aamer cruised past Mike Merrifield with an 11-8, 12-10 and 11-2 margin.

Moosa made it to the final with a 12-10, 11-3 and 11-9 victory over Hesham Hassan who went on to take third place.

In the Plate final, Moataz Aldeep scored a 11-7, 11-7, 10-12 and 11-7 win over Dominic McGurk.

Dominic had earlier beaten Tawfiq Abdul Jalil 11-8, 11-6, 11-8 in the semifinals.

Prize giving

Dania Malki, Marketing & PR Manager of Le Meridian, Dr Sudharma Hiremath, Spa and Recreation Manager, and Faiz Khan, Squash Coach. attended the prize giving ceremony.

The tournament has been held for the past 12 years.
