Dubai: Mohammad Jalfar, the UAE volleyball association board's chairman and Al Nasr Club deputy chairman, praised the Al Nasr volleyball players for winning the silver medal in the GCC clubs tournament which finished last Friday in Bahrain.
"This is an excellent achievement for the UAE and the Al Nasr volleyball. Winning the silver medal after beating four of the best teams in the GCC countries is a tremendous achievement and showed the level where the UAE volleyball has reached," said Jalfar.
He said that Al Nasr players were 'unlucky' to lose the title on sets points difference. "Our players won the first four matches and lost the last one to Al Hilal of Saudi Arabia. I think they are the uncrowned champions as per the opinion of most experts and coaches. "Al Nasr is the only team who beat champions Al Qadsia of Kuwait and it was bad luck to have lost the title on set-points," said Jalfar.
