Dubai: "The Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Endurance Cup 2008 is set to be one of the top sporting events and we are indebted to the vision of His Highness for making it happen," said Ali Moosa Al Khamiri, general manager of Dubai Equestrian Club and head of Dubai Endurance.

"Endurance has a huge profile in the UAE, where many of the best riders hail from, and it is fitting that the country hosts such a prestigious event. We hope this ride will become the centrepiece of the endurance season worldwide," Ali Moosa said.

Test of skill

"The January 12 event will give the international riders a chance to test their skills against the UAE riders and we expect a terrific tussle for supremacy," he said.

"The Dubai International Endurance City in Seih Assalam has been spruced up and apart from the riders and horses, the spectators will also have a chance to enjoy themselves," Ali Moosa added.
