Dubai Show Jumping starts on thursday
The three-day Gulf News-sponsored Dubai International CSI-W-Show Jumping Championship, one of the biggest equestrian events in the UAE, starts today at the Emirates Equestrian Centre in Seih Assalam, next to the Dubai International Endurance City near Bab Al Shams.

Dubai: The three-day Gulf News-sponsored Dubai International CSI-W-Show Jumping Championship, one of the biggest equestrian events in the UAE, starts today at the Emirates Equestrian Centre in Seih Assalam, next to the Dubai International Endurance City near Bab Al Shams.
The three-day event is being organised by the Dubai Equestrian Club in coordination with the UAE Equestrian and Racing Federation. Amount of Dh475,000 has been earmarked as prize money, according to a press release.
The two feature events of the three-day event are the Qualifier Round for FEI World Cup tomorrow and the Grand Prix- FEI World Cup Arab League Qualifier which will be held on Saturday.
The FEI World Cup Arab League Qualifier will he held this year only in UAE and Qatar and UAE plays host to three events to be held in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.
Fifty-one jumpers from nine Arab countries are taking part in the Dubai event including riders from Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Libya, Syria, Jordan, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman and the UAE.
Some of the Category A jumpers from the UAE include Shaikha Latifa Al Maktoum, Shaikh Shakboot Al Nahyan, Shaikh Majid Al Qasimi, Ahmad Ali Al Junaibi, Khalid Ali Al Junaibi, Majed Sultan Al Awani, Muftah Al Dhahiri, Saif Omar Thabet, Rashid Ahmad Al Hosani, Mohammad Rashid Al Suwaidi, Abdullah Mohammed Al Merri, Arif Ahmad Jassem, Omran Ahmad Al Owais, Mohammad Ahmad Al Owais, Abdullah Humaid Al Muhairi, Hamad Ali Al Kirbi, Mohammad Abdullah Al Kumaiti, Ahmad Abdul Rahman Ameen, Omar Ghazi Khoori, Adel Khamis Ali Saeed and Mohammad Abdullah Ketait.
Three UAE riders from Category B who are vying in the championship include Shaikh Ali Al Qasimi, Salim Ahmad Al Suwaidi and Mohammad Abdullah Ketait.
