Deadline extended for Dubai Marathon registrations
Dubai Marathon expected to break attendance records
Scheduled to get underway from Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Boulevard in Downtown Dubai on January 25, the event is expected to break all records with around 20,000 runners taking to the streets of the emirate for the marathon and its associated 10km and 3km fun run.
With organisers allowing runners a few extra weeks of online registration following the original deadline of December 31, the 2013 Dubai Marathon promises to be a carnival occasion across Downtown Dubai in the shadow of the iconic Burj Khalifa.
“There is always a rush on the system as last-minute runners push to register right up to the deadline,” said event director Peter Connerton. “Obviously we set a deadline as we need to know how many runners to cater for in terms of medals, refreshments, marshals etc. However, we have put systems in place to cater for the later entrants and look forward to seeing record numbers on January 25.”
Runners looking to compete on January 25 should register at the official website www.dubaimarathon.org.
