Bajarani maintains lead in junior open

Dubai: Eiti Bashir of Syria held to a draw F.M. Ulvi of Azerbaijan in the Torre, London and Colle system. Bajarani maintained his lead with seven points after the eighth and penultimate round of the Dubai Junior Open Chess Championship held at Dubai Chess and Culture Club. This championship is sponsored by Mont Blanc.
Five players, Yogesh Gautam and Sudharsan Surya K. of India, F.M. Al Tarbosh Ward and Eiti Bashir of Syria and C.M. Sanal Vahap of Turkmenistan are close on the heels of the leader half a point behind. W.F.M. Goryachkina Alek-sandra of Russia, W.C.M. Saduakassova Dinara and Makhmutov Bagrat of Kaz-akhstan, Shabanov Nurlan Mammad Oglu and Rahimli Sanan Rovshan Oglu of Azerbaijan shared the third spot with six points.
Among the UAE players, Ebrahim Sultan, Abeer Ali, C.M. Naif Saleh, Hassan Mohd Ali, W.F.M. Amnah Nouman, Ali Abdul Aziz, Rashid Sultan, Ali Abdullah and Anwar Walid are at the top of the table with 5.5 points. Amna Nouman, Hassan Mohammad Ali, Ali Abdulaziz, Ali Abdullah and Anwar Walid registered facile victories while Rashid Sultan and Sultan Ebrahim drew the game against each other.
