Abu Dhabi: UAE's ace powerboat driver, Thani Al Qamzy, continued his brilliant run in the President's Cup for Formula II and won his fourth round in a row in the Khor Fakkan Grand Prix on Friday.

Al Qamzy, the driver of the Emirates Formula I Team that won the UIM World Teams Championship last year, won the two rounds which were held in the coastal city on Thursday and Friday to increase his overall tally to a full 80 points.

"I am fortunate to have won all the four rounds so far.

The championship is dear to me because it carries the name of our leader," Al Qamzy told Gulf News.

Teammates

The championship, a brainchild of the Abu Dhabi International Marine Sports Club, is held in the UAE and Qatar.

The fourth round was dominated by local drivers who won the first three places as Ahmad Al Hamly came second and Majid Al Mansouri third.

Both are the teammates of Al Qamzy in the Emirates F I Team. Frenchman Philippe Toure finished fourth.

Al Qamzy leads the standings of the championship with 80 points followed by Al Hamly and Toure in second place with 45 points each followed by Al Mansouri with 31 points.
