Abu Dhabi: Al Ain Mineral Water Team progressed to the final of the HH The President's Cup Polo Cup with a 6-6 draw in their last league match against Habtoor Team and will now take on Team Emirates in what promises to be a mouth-watering final on Thursday.
The two finalists met in the opening match and Team Emirates pipped Al Ain Mineral Water Team 8-7 with Oscar Colombres' six-goal effort going in vain for the latter.
The two meet again today, Team Emirates having qualified with three consecutive victories while Ain Mineral Water Team won one, drew one and lost the other in that opener.
Team Emirates, who enjoy a one-goal advantage in handicap over Al Ain Mineral Water Team, will also be starting off as the favourites while Oscar's team will be looking to gain sweet revenge.
Oscar was once again the star in Tuesday's 6-6 draw with Habtoor Team in a match which was virtually reduced to a knock-out semifinal.
Except for the second chukka when Habtoor dominated, Al Ain Mineral Water Team were always in control and a late goal from Justo Del Carril deprived them of a win.
Oscar opened the scoring for Al Ain but Del Carril equalised before Ahmad Al Nuaimi made it 2-1 in the first chukka.
Habtoor's pros Del Carril and Stanilao Ramos both scored in the second chukka and it was her team which led 3-2 at the halfway stage.
It was Oscar's brilliance in the third chukka which kept Habtoor in check as he scored twice before Mohammad Al Habtoor and Asaqual replied for their team.
