Beijing: Shaikh Ahmad Mohammad Hasher Al Maktoum, the reigning Olympic champion in double trap, was unable to give himself the boost he must have been looking for heading into tomorrow's competition, when he finished down the field in the Sunday's men's Olympic trap event.

Shaikh Ahmad, who specialises in the double trap event, could only manage 30th place with a score of 110.

He will defend his title when the qualification starts at 5am (UAE time) on Tuesday. The final is scheduled to be held at 11am (UAE). Shaikh Ahmad won the gold at Athens four years ago.
