Dubai: Round two of the four-stage Dubai Kartdrome Endurance Championship Driven by Mini takes place at Dubai Kartdrome this weekend.

High temperatures and humidity make this one of the hardest rounds of the series, where drivers face 600 laps over 12 hours, starting at 9pm on Friday and ending before 10am on Saturday.

CG Racing, who won the first round of both pro and corporate categories in March, are once again the team to beat as they target another treble after becoming the first team to win three titles in a season here last year.

Kartdrome manager Ryan Trutch said he expected a tight race.

“Thanks to Mini and our regular teams who have set an impressive benchmark, making our endurance series one of the most respected in the world,” he said. “We are expecting an intriguing and tough contest, with several teams capable of taking top honours. Strategy, fitness, teamwork, consistency and of course relentless speed are the key ingredients. Teams who can optimise these on the night will most likely be on the podium.”

Entry for spectators is free with access to viewing area above the pit garages.
