Honda to bring in rolling changes to pick up pace
Honda Racing has announced a series of rolling changes in an attempt to be more competitive at the Formula One World Championship.
Sakhir, Bahrain: Honda Racing has announced a series of rolling changes in an attempt to be more competitive at the Formula One World Championship.
"We are not quick enough and we need to do something about that," Honda Racing's British driver Jenson Button admitted.
"The car is not producing enough grip on the straight and it is becoming very difficult to drive it," Button said. "It is frustrating for everyone, but this is what we have at the moment."
Honda finished beyond the top 10 in the standings after Friday's two practice sessions. Button ended at the rear end of the standings after a blown engine put him out midway through practice. Honda's miseries continued during yesterday's third practice session with Button coming in 16th best, while teammate Barrichello was two stops lower on 18th.
Later during the qualifying, things were no better as both drivers got out during the second phase and earned the right to start in 15th and 16th on the grid.
"It's much more difficult in the race," Button shrugged.
Nick Fry, Team Principal and Chief Executive Officer at Honda Racing, was not expecting too much either. "This is the same car that we had last week, and hence we were not expecting too much from it," Fry admitted.
