Dubai: Ryan Cullen took a huge step towards securing the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Middle East title with back-to-back wins in the penultimate round of the six-stage series in Bahrain over the weekend.
The Irishman finished ahead of Tom Oliphant and Charlie Frijns in the first race and saw off stiff competition from Oliphant and Dylan Pereira in the second. He now stands 33 points clear of Frijns and 40 points ahead of Oliphant in the overall standings with one round remaining. The finale will be held in Bahrain, April 15-16, as a support race to the Bahrain F1 Grand Prix.
“I don’t know where this leaves me on points after this weekend but that doesn’t mean anything to me,” said Cullen. “I want to keep pushing and aim to finish my season with two race wins next round.”
