Abu Dhabi: James Calado of Lotus ART led the two iSport International cars to the podium in the second and final GP2 Series race of the season at the Yas Marina Circuit here yesterday.

Participating for the first time in the GP2 Series, Calado looked dominant from the rest of the grid as he completed a one of a kind debut of winning on arrival from the GP3 Series. "This is such a promising result for me and it gives me a lot of confidence ahead of the testing next season," Calado told Gulf News.

The British driver was pushed to the maximum by the iSport International duo of Swedish driver Marcus Ericsson and Frenchman Tom Dillmann, but the Lotus ART debutant just stayed his course to record his first GP2 Series win in his first outing.

Shaikh Sultan Bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Chairman, Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA) presented the trophies with Mohammad Bin Sulayem, Fia Vice President and President of ATCUAE (Automobile and Touring club of the United Arab Emirates).

ART team owner Nicolas Todt, son of Fia President Jean Todt, praised Calado's ability to handle pressure.
