Abu Dhabi: Khalid Al Qubaisi and team Abu Dhabi-Proton Racing are all set for the Le Mans test on the 5th of June.
Al Qubaisi is looking forward to his fourth appearance at the legendary 24 hour race with a scheduled test at the La Sarthe circuit ahead of Round 3 of the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) on June 18-19.
The aim of this day of free practice is to give the entrants the opportunity to come and test their cars on the 13.629-km Le Mans 24-Hours circuit, and to familiarise themselves with the unique layout.
The Abu Dhabi-Proton Racing team will be behind the wheel of the No. 88 Porsche 911 RSR as they take on some of the best in world endurance racing in class, with Al Qubaisi making his fourth appearance in a row at La Sarthe where he finished second in class in 2014.
Al Qubaisi is clearly looking forward to the Le Mans test as it gives the team the opportunity to prepare the car and the entire crew for the 24-hour endurance later in the month.
“It’s always great to be back to La Sarthe; I’m looking forward to the test day and really can’t wait to start the legendary race after 2 weeks. Le Mans test is, of course, very important; it will give us a great opportunity to set up the car for the 24H race and to be prepared drivers aboard our Porsche 911 RSR,” Al Qubaisi said.
