Abu Dhabi hosts UAE Jet Ski 2010

The race includes six categories

Abu Dhabi: More than 50 pilots will compete in the first round of the UAE Jet Ski 2010 Championship at the Abu Dhabi Corniche, organised by the Abu Dhabi International Marine Sports Club (ADIMSC) from 2.30 pm Friday.

The race, held under the patronage of Dr Shaikh Sultan Bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, the President of the ADIMSC, includes six categories: Runabout Stock up to 1600cc for 12 laps. Pro Ski up to 900 cc for 12 laps.

Junior Ski up to 800 cc for 10 laps. Ski Limited up 800 cc for 10 laps. Pro Runabout up to 1600 cc for 15 laps and the Freestyle competition.

The technical committee of the race, headed by Nasir Al Daheri, has inspected all the participating aquabikes and none was eliminated. "All the machines are eligible for competition. We have inspected both the machines and the fuel." Al Daheri told Gulf News Thursday.

Mohammad Rabie, from Kuwait, is the reigning champion of the Runabout Stock up to 1600 cc and has confirmed his readiness to defend the title he won last year.
