Dubai: The UAE organises two important Purebred Arabian races - one in the U.S. and the other in the U.K. - tomorrow [Saturday], both of which are being held alongside prestigious races.

At the Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, Maryland, the President of the UAE Cup (Group 1) race will see the debut of Purebred Arabians at the prestigious Preakness Day.

Dubai Kahayla Classic winner TM Fred Texas, the defending champion, will take on the champion mare Dixies Valentine, owned by Shaikh Tahnoun Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Emiri Aviation, and Group 1 winner Grilla, among others, in the US$75,000 Group 1 race organised by the Emirates Equestrian Federation.

In Newbury in the U.K., UAE lady jockey Shathra Al Hajaj will be among those taking part in the HH Shaikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies World Championship (IFAHR) race staged by the Shaikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Flat Racing Festival.

The race is scheduled to take place immediately after today's feature Lockinge Stakes Group 1, which sees the world's highest-rated thoroughbred horse Frankel making his seasonal reappearance.

"I would like to thank HH Shaikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union, for her strong support to the amateur lady riders and the UAE women by providing them the opportunity in sports in general and equestrian in particular," said Lara Sawaya, Director of the Shaikh Mansour Festival and Head of IFAHR Ladies Racing.
