Mohammad sets up new federal body for horse racing
His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, issued a decree creating a new association for horse races tobe affiliated with the council of ministers and headed by Shaikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Presidential Affairs.
Dubai: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, vice-president and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, issued a decree creating a new association for horse races to be affiliated with the council of ministers and headed by Shaikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Presidential Affairs.
The association shall take over organising all horse races in the UAE in accordance with international standards, as well as promoting races, horse breeding and ownership and educating the public about this sport.
The association shall be responsible for organising horse races, licensing race courses, jockeys and technicians and stable crews, carrying out relevant tests, registering horses in addition to accrediting colours and emblems.
