Abu Dhabi: Purebred Arabian racing and the number of people getting connected to this breed of horses is on the increase, according to Taleb Daher Al Muhairi, Secretary-General of the Emirates Equestrian Racing Federation (EEF).
Speaking to Gulf News from Chantilly, France, where the EEF kick starts the His Highness President of the UAE Series for Purebred Arabian horses, Al Muhairi told Gulf News, "We have witnessed a surge in the number of owners getting involved in Purebred Arabian horses not only in the UAE but also in Europe.
"The races staged by the EEF in different parts of Europe have been a huge success and there has been an increase in the number of races for Purebred Arabian horses all over the world.
"After this race in Chantilly, the Emirates Equestrian Federation has planned similar races in Newmarket in England, Moscow in Russia and Baden Baden in Germany for the current season. We also have managed to get a race for Purebred Arabians this year in Ascot and it will be held on July 25," Thaleb added.
"Most of the Federation-supported races have attracted large crowd here in Europe and Purebred Arabian horse racing has begun to catch the imagination of the racing fans here.
"This year's series marks the 15th anniversary and new logo has been created to mark the occasion. We are confident that it will create a positive and significant impression with international horse spectators," the EEF official stated.
