Dubai: Godolphin’s Hunter’s Light continues to please his connections after a light work-out at Kranji racecourse ahead of his intended run in the Group 1 Singapore Airlines International Cup on May 19.

The Saeed Bin Surour-trained son of Dubawi hacked one lap before day-break on the Polytrack before heading back to his stables.

Long-serving travelling foreman Richard Corona gave Hunter’s Light the thumbs-up and said: “He’s travelled beautifully. He lost a little bit of weight on the way here, but he’s already put it back on.

“He’s used to travelling now, having already been to Turkey, Italy and Dubai where he’s won Group races.”

“He only came out for a light jog over eight furlongs [one lap] and he seemed happy.

“We will probably give him only two gallops till race day as he’s already very fit. The first one will be next Wednesday [May 8] and the other one maybe on May 14.”

Hunter’s Light won three races on the trot at Meydan this season before running seventh to Animal Kingdom in the $10 million (Dh36.7 million) Group 1 Dubai World Cup (2000m) on March 30. Among his wins was the Group 1 Al Maktoum Challenge.

Hunter’s Light had previously won the Group 2 Anatolia Trophy in Turkey and the Group 1 Premio Roma in Italy.
