Abu Dhabi: Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and one of the UAE's top endurance riders, said he would now stay focused on winning the World Endurance Championship to be held in Malaysia in November.
Commenting on his victory in Bahrain last week, Shaikh Hamdan said he owed his win to His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
Speaking to Gulf News at the Emirates International Endurance Village in Al Wathba, Shaikh Hamdan said, "It was a fantastic result in Bahrain for the UAE and all the hard work and guidance of my father, Shaikh Mohammad, has been bearing fruit.
"I am also happy with my own form," said Shaikh Hamdan, who won the prestigious 160-km The President's Cup and then followed it up with a fine victory in Qatar before the Bahrain triumph.
Training hard
When asked how he was looking at November's World Endurance Championship, Shaikh Hamdan said, "We will win it. We will be ready to bring home the laurels."
"From now on, I will just concentrate on training very hard," said the Asian Games team gold medallist, former European Open champion and winner of many other international rides.
"Kaysand Farrazah and Wadhnan are my two favourite horses and I hope I will be riding one of them. However, that decision is a long way off and Shaikh Mohammad will make that decision," he said.
