Gutsy effort by Campanologist in the Eclipse

Dubai: Campanologist finished a creditable fourth in the Coral Eclipse Stakes at Sandown on Saturday as top Irish trainer Aidan O'Brien captured his 12th Group One win of the season.
The Godolphin three-year-old colt, who was having his first run in Group One company, looked to have every chance at the two furlong marker, before he was passed by the O'Brien-trained Mount Nelson and runner-up Phoenix Tower.
Trainer Saeed Bin Surour said: "Campanologist ran very well - I was happy with his performance.
"However, it looks to me that he is more of a mile and a half performer. There are no plans but we will try and find a race for him in August."
Irish jockey Johnny Murtagh came with a late challenge aboard Mount Nelson to deny 5-2 favourite Phoenix Tower, the mount of six-time UAE champion jockey Ted Durcan.
Last week O'Brien and Murtagh teamed up with Forest Fire to win the Irish Derby at the Curragh having nailed six wins at Royal Ascot earlier in June.
Murtagh told Channel 4 Racing: "We've got some marvellous horses and this is just one of them."
Meanwhile Godolphin's Folk Opera finished fourth in the Group Two Lancashire Oaks on ground softened by rain at Haydock Park.
The race was won by Anna Pavlova, ridden by local jockey Paul Hanagan.
Bin Surour remarked: "The ground went against her today which was disappointing."
