Ascot: Dubai Duty Free have signed a new five-year contract to continue sponsoring the Shergar Cup.
The firm has sponsored the international event, which took place over the weekend and saw Europe take the four-team points contest by scoring 90 points, since 2006.
Colm McLoughlin, managing director of the airport retailer, said: "I am delighted to announce that we are continuing our support of this popular and colourful event and look forward to taking it to an even higher level.
"A ground-breaking concept, it has exceeded the aims of its originators, the gladiatorial elements of competing teams in one of racing's greatest theatres, having captured the imagination of a wider audience and helped introduce many new faces to the sport."
Nick Smith, head of public relations at Ascot, said: "It is terrific news that Dubai Duty Free has made such a long-term commitment, and we will build on the success-story and make it bigger and better."
