Dubai: The Dh180,000 Group 2 Mazrat Al Ruwayah, sponsored by Lincoln Navigator and the first Listed races of the 2015-16 Meydan season, add a touch of quality to an Al Tayer Motors racecard worth a whopping Dh1.1 million on Thursday.
As a Meydan Pillar Partner, Al Tayer Motors also sponsors a Dubai World Cup Carnival meeting on February 18, 2016, and was back at the track on Dubai World Cup held this year on March 26.
The Mazrat Al Ruwayah for Purebred Arabians is the first race on the card and is contested over a mile. It was won in 2014 by the Ali Rashid Al Raihe-trained AF Lafeh under jockey Royston Ffrench.
Later, the Thoroughbreds take to the track for three quality Dh225,000 races, including the Listed Dubai Creek Mile sponsored by Lincoln MKC, The Entisar sponsored by Al Tayer Motors, a Listed race over 2,000m and the 1,200m Listed Garhoud Sprint sponsored by Lincoln MKX.
First run in the 2014-15 season, the three Listed contests have been added to the Racing at Meydan programme to allow trainers to prepare horses for the 2016 Dubai World Cup Carnival, which will begin on Thursday, January 7, 2016.
