Thornberry, Judge and Tufail shine
Sean Thornberry, Aditya Judge and Sana Tufail turned in some solid performances during the season to win the Emirates Golf Federation's Junior Order of Merit titles in their respective divisions.
Dubai: Sean Thornberry, Aditya Judge and Sana Tufail turned in some solid performances during the season to win the Emirates Golf Federation's Junior Order of Merit titles in their respective divisions.
Emirates Golf Club (EGC) prodigy Thornberry tallied 99.3 points in four different events .
His performance across the competitions took him ahead of Daniel Hendry (88.8), also of EGC, in the boys Gross Order of Merit race.
Meanwhile Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club's Judge made 82.5 points.
His tally was enough to narrowly beat his nearest challenger Hendry by just 1.5 points to take the honours in the boys net division.
Abu Dhabi Golf Club's Sana reigned supreme in the girls net division.
She carded 96 points in four tournaments to edge past Serifa D'Souza (84.5) of Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club.
"I would like to congratulate all the winners for their consistent performance," Saeed Albudoor, general manager of the Emirates Golf Federation, said.
"We, at Emirates Golf Federation, are committed to promoting golf at the grassroots level.
"More such tournaments on the domestic circuit will go a long way in spreading the game in the country, if not in the region.
"I thank all players and sponsors for contributing to the success of Order of Merit."
