Teenager Tufail wins Ladies Amateur golf open
Dubai: Fifteen-year-old Sana Tufail of Yas Links Golf Club of Abu Dhabi retained the Dubai Creek Ladies Amateur Open, played last weekend at the Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club.
Tufail won convincingly after scoring a gross three-over par 74 in testing conditions, keeping promising junior talent Julia Al Hemoud who produced a fine 77 and the best nett score of the day of 65.
Over 40 players from all over the UAE and some from abroad battled it out in severely windy conditions for the prestigious title which was first contested in 1994.
