Tee party to mark UAE National Day

The UAE Golf Association (UGA) has organised 'a tee party' to celebrate the UAE National Day at the Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club on December 2.

Dubai: The UAE Golf Association (UGA) has organised 'a tee party' to celebrate the UAE National Day at the Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club on December 2.

The UAE National Day Cup tournament is expected to feature a full field with players battling it out for honours in a team betterball format.

The tournament will have two shot gun starts at 8am and 1pm.

"The intention is accommodate as many players as possible," said Saeed Albudoor, general manager of the UGA.

"The early response to the tournament has been quite encouraging and we expect a huge turn out on the day of the tournament," he said. "I am sure all players will have fun in the sun."

The tournament is open to all, both UAE nationals and expatriates holding valid handicaps.

Interested players may sign up as individuals or teams of two or four.

Entry, which closes on November 22, will be accepted on first-come-first-served basis.

Fees for taking part range ranges between Dh640 (for visitors) and Dh100 (juniors).

There are special rates for the UGA members (Dh540) and Dubai Creek members (Dh320).

The entry fee includes green fee, golf cart, range balls and prize presentation dinner.
