Dubai: The two-player team of Adele McKelvey (5) and John Mills (Scr) shot a nett 69 to win the November edition of the Al-Futtaim Motors - Toyota Golf Day at Arabian Ranches Golf Club on Saturday.
The event open to members and their guests had a Greensomes format with each 2-player team receiving 3/8 of their combined team handicaps as the allowance. There were 30 two-player teams in the field which were male, female as well as mixed.
The winner's card consisted of a gross 71 with a 2 shot handicap allowance. Highlights of their round included 5 gross birdies and 4 bogies. The team stood two over par gross after 2 holes having started bogey - bogey from hole number 4 in this shotgun event.
Runners-up two shots back were the team of Kurt DiNucci (5) and Andrew Burrow (4) on nett 71. DiNucci has reduced his handicap from 7 to 5 in the last 8 days thanks to another strong performance.
They managed to beat the third placed team by another two shot margin from Wim Boogaerts (11) and Chris Tometzki (9).
This was the 10th event in the 2006/07 Al-Futtaim Motors Order of Merit and sees Wayne Sheridan (7) and Dave Sumsion (10) continue to lead on 115 points, their nearest rival is Trevor Varri (6) on 90 points.
