The team of 14-year- old Robert Legnar (12), 13- year-old Findlay (4), Lesley (10) and Mitch Ingram (6) shot 82 Stableford points to clinch the September Toyota Golf Day yesterday at The Desert Course, Arabian Ranches.
A field of 104 members, Arabian Ranches Homeowners and their guests competed in the Toyota Golf Day sponsored by Al-Futtaim Motors. This month's event was the 4 player Stableford with the best 2 individual scores selected at each hole from the team and each player being granted handicap allowance. Teams were male, female and mixed teams with the event being started by a 1.30 pm shotgun start.
The winner's card consisted of balanced nines of 41 a side having started on hole 16.
Highlights of the card included 6 pointers on holes 6 and 17 the former with threes by Lesley and Mitch, the latter with threes by Findlay and Robert in a dovetailed team performance that shared the workload. Their only blemish came on hole 14 where they struggled to accumulate 2 points from the team.
Runners up a point behind on 81 were the team of Colin Tulley (21), Colin Cloete (8), Jan Cloete (27) and Michael Cloete (9).
