Abu Dhabi: NBAD Abu Dhabi Harlequins are on the brink of clinching a historic double crown, as they prepare to take on Dubai Hurricanes in the final game of the season this evening.

Having already won this season's Super 5 title, the Harlequins will win the Arabian Gulf League championship if they can knock over their bitter rivals from Dubai.

The Harlequins have not won the league title for seven years, and the club is eager to emulate the success of their women's side, who have already been crowned premiership champions.

"Victory this weekend would be huge for the Harlequins," said club chairman Richard Harris.

"It's fantastic that the way the fixtures have worked out mean that we will be playing what is effectively a championship decider in the final game of the season - and it's a home game, too.

"The boys have trained really hard this week and we're pumped up to go out and win the title in front of our home crowd and sponsors."
