Dubai: Dubal, the main sponsor of the Desert Classic, scored an incredible scoop by securing the world's top two golfers, Tiger Woods and Ernie Els, to play with the aluminium giant's customers and suppliers in today's Pro-Am.
The Dubal business associates drawn to play were Deepak Talwar (Deepak Talwar Consulting), Herbert Kwok (Unimetal Brazil) and Abdullah Naboudah (Al Naboudah Group), who teams up with Tiger Woods; and Patrick Kron (Alstom), Walid Al Attar (Dubal) and Ian Tan (AEI Corporation), who will play alongside Ernie Els.
Abdullah Kalban, Dubal CEO, said: "Scheduled business meetings coincident with the tournament allow us to build on our existing long-term relationships and consolidate our business plans. A comprehensive social programme is also arranged for our guests during their stay in Dubai, providing ample opportunity to experience our traditional Arabian hospitality.
"Our customers love Dubai and look forward to the Desert Classic each year. They are also intensely loyal to Dubal.
Rare opportunity
"We are delighted by the opportunity to be associated with two golfers of Tiger and Els's ilk. Both are an inspiration to amateurs and both add tremendous prestige to the Classic."
Echoing these sentiments, Walid Al Attar, Dubal's General Manager: Marketing & Sales, said: "We are truly honoured to have both Tiger and Ernie "on our side", so to speak; and wish these two golfing greats all the best for the tournament."
