Dubal has been associated with the $2.5 million (Dh9.1 million) European Tour event almost since day one and the extension of their support underlines the company's commitment to encouraging community initiatives and the broader goals of the Dubai Government.
This year's edition of the Omega Dubai Desert Classic is expected to create quite a buzz in the golfing world with some of the world's top golfers, including defending champion Rory McIlory, leading a star parade.
‘Delighted'
Mohammad Yahya, manager Corporate Relations and International Affairs, Dubal, said: "We are delighted to be associated with Dubai Desert Classic again. We firmly believe that the tournament will help promote the Dubal brand to a world-wide audience."
"Dubal's ongoing support of the world-class tournaments… in our city is one of the many ways that our company invests in the development of Dubai," Yahya added.
"Today, the name of Dubai has become synonymous with golf — and a great deal of the city's popularity as a golf destination is due to the success of events like the Omega Dubai Desert Classic and the Omega Dubai Ladies Masters tournaments."
Mohammad Juma Bu Amim, vice-chairman and CEO of ‘golf in DUBAi' — the promoters and organisers of the Omega Dubai Desert Classic — lauded the unflinching commitment of Dubal in raising the global profile of the two premier events.
