Abu Dhabi: Defending champion Robert Rock has withdrawn from the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship after falling ill. Rock a shock winner here last year, had a poor opening round of four over par 76 on Thursday, told organisers he was feeling unwell and withdrew from today's day two action.

Rock's group mate Justin Rose, meanwhile, consolidated his lead with another birdie and was six under par after the first ten holes in the second round.
