Dubai: The Emirates Black Tee Challenge supported by Gulf News takes place this weekend with a strong field of 114 golfers looking to test their skills over 14,649 yards of golf course.
Joel Neale will be in the final match tomorrow over the Wadi by Faldo Course looking to defend his title after posting a winning 36-hole score of seven over last year.
Starters
Matthew Turner off a plus two handicap, also from the host venue, leads a strong amateur line-up including Dino Varkey (Dubai Creek Golf &Yacht Club), Mukhtar Mirza (DCGYC) and Alex Charawani (Abu Dhabi GC) all likely starters in the Dubai Golf Trophy in May.
The amateurs will not however have it all their own way with the likes of Simon Dunn and Nick Oakley (fifth in 2007) leading the Professional challenge.
The event, one of the highlights of the UAE golfing calendar, tees off at 6:35 tomorrow over the Faldo designed par 73 Wadi course with the final round on Saturday over the Majlis.
With both courses in excellent condition an under-par 36 hole total should take a lot of beating.
