A Dubai resident's wish list - sunny side up
Being a Dubai resident, defending champion Henrik Stenson still has a list of "to do" for 2008.
Dubai: Being a Dubai resident, defending champion Henrik Stenson still has a list of "to do" for 2008.
"There are a few things that I haven't been able to do yet," Stenson told media after finishing the second day with a total of six-under-par.
"I've been out in the desert, but not on a proper sort of dune safari, so that's yet to come," Stenson smiled.
"There're always things to explore, and I haven't gone skiing on the sand yet, and not indoors either to be honest," the Swede added.
An increasing number of tournaments being held in the region is one of the reasons why Stenson chose to make Dubai his home after marrying Emma at the end of 2006. His intention was to make the distance shorter to Asia and Australia for the opening part of the season.
The Swede - who has Dubai-based Delwood as one of his sponsors - also has a home in Orlando as he has started playing quite a few tournaments on the US PGA Tour as well.
He loves the practice facilities here and maintains that there is no other coming anywhere close to what he gets here by way of practice facilities and fair weather to match it.
