Abu Dhabi: Al Jazira are a totally different team this season.

They have been one of the favourites to win the title for the past five seasons, but each time they failed to live up to the promise they had started with - saving perhaps their worst for the last!

This season, however, it's a different story. Head coach, Ladislau Boloni, succeeded in stringing together a determined unit. His job was made easier by the team winning the GCC Clubs' Championship at the start of this season. It helped build the players' confidence.

They have a difficult job on their hands now - beating league leaders Al Shabab twice within a span of four days to clinch the First Division League. It is indeed difficult, though not impossible.

"Where there's a will, there's a way," Hamad Al Suwaidi, the supervisor of Al Jazira team, told Gulf News.

Brilliant youngsters

The team have introduced some brilliant youngsters this season like Sultan Al Minhali, Abdullah Qasim, Salem Masaoud, in addition to the rising UAE right wing-back, Ahmad Dada. Boloni has succeeded in striking a fine balance between youth and experience.

"We have 5 cars and 50 laptops to offer our supporters, attending the match. Admission is free," Saeed Bin Shaiban, the member of the club's board of directors. "The prizes will be drawn against the numbers of the tickets."
