Dubai: India will soon benefit from live coverage of the UAE Football League (UFL).

The agreement to beam UFL games live to the Indian sub-continent starting in February was disclosed by Andrea Radrizzani, Group CEO of MP & Silva, the international sports rights marketing company for the UFL.

"We have confirmed deals with Zee TV in India and in Indonesia for the live coverage of matches. We believe we have a fantastic product that needs to be sold first in the region," Radrizzani stated.

The Singapore-based sports media company has already clinched three exclusive distribution contracts with Al Jazira, Al Kaas and ART for relaying weekly highlights of the UFL. They are also in the process of an agreement with Euro Sports.

"The UFL's Friday games are best suited for Asia in particular, so this is a good start for us," said Romi Gai, CEO of the UFL.

Yesterday, MP & Silva also signed a four-year agreement with the UFL to exclusively distribute the marketing rights for the UFL.

The latest in the bag for the UFL is a major deal with electronics giant Toshiba Corporation starting from next week.

With seven weeks of the UFL already over, Gai expects to start at least 50 per cent of the profit sharing process with the 12 clubs by the first week of February.
