The UAE FA and Sharjah Club are expected to punish players for bad conduct in two separate cases which happened this month.
Abu Dhabi: The UAE FA and Sharjah Club are expected to punish players for bad conduct in two separate cases which happened this month.
Mohammad Khalfan Al Rumaithi, the FA Chairman, said the FA is investigating accusations that some players of the national team were caught in a disco club late one night during the team's training camp for the friendly tournament in Dubai earlier this month.
The accustions were published by a local Arabic newspaper with some out-of-focus pictures.
"The FA has addressed both the newspaper and the hotel of the disco club. If it proves some of the players were really in the disco club, we will punish them for their bad conduct and breach of the training camp regulations." Al Rumaithi said.
Meanwhile, Sharjah club are investigating the brawl between their Brazilian striker Anderson and the three brothers Hassan, Tarig and Rashid Ahmad during the team's training session three days ago.
Attacked
The incident started when Anderson tackled Hassan who fought with him, then Tarig later attacked the Brazilian before the trio, together, attacked him later while he was sitting on the bench.
Van Der Lim, the head coach of the team, cancelled the training in protest of the players' bad behaviour. The club's management held an urgent meeting, headed by Ali Omran, the vice-chairman of the board of directors, and met with Anderson before deciding to prohibit the three brothers from training with the team until the end of the investigation
Meanwhile, Sharjah Sports Council, is also awaiting for the report of the incident to take the necessary action.
Hassan Ahmad said: "I am innocent and will leave the issue for the club's management to investigate."
However, Anderson said: "It was an ordinary tackle that happens every day in a 50-50 ball and I was shocked as both his brothers joined in the fight which made the incident a bad act."
Reconciliation attempts were made between Anderson and the three brothers but both the SSC and the club have decided to take actions that will prevent such and act of happening again.
