UAE national team coach urges community support
The manager of the UAE national beach soccer team cannot stop his effusive praise of his side.
Dubai: The manager of the UAE national beach soccer team cannot stop his effusive praise of his side.
As a national team player, Mohammad Al Kous knows what it means to be part of a winning set-up. And as an official he is aware of what it takes to get a winning mentality.
"The UAE team is a bunch of guys who play with all heart. They have been amazing with what they've achieved as a team, and I am sure they have many more records to look forward to," he told Gulf News.
The former Al Nasr Club player related how the beach soccer team have evolved since their formation two years back.
"There are a lot of ex-footballers who came and tried beach soccer. But over a period of time they realised how tough it is. But the ones we have mean business and it's this one quality that stands ...," he said.
From the looks of it, two Asian titles and a 2-1 friendly win against three-time World Champions Brazil has done little for the UAE.
"The fans need to believe in us now. The results are there for all to see. We need people to come out and support this team and we can write history," Al Kous promised.
