Dubai: The UAE Football Association has refused to cancel the contract of Sharjah club midfielder Tariq Ahmad.

At an association board meeting, chaired by UAE FA President Mohammad Khalfan Al Rumaithi, the player was told his request would not be granted.

The board said he should seek an amicable solution with the club over the problems between them.

Sharjah club were ordered to pay the player all the money it owed him according to the contract which had been agreed between the two parties.

However the UAE governing body did agree to cancel goalkeeper Ali Hasan Al Amir's contract with Al Wasl.

The decision was made after the board agree the club did not comply with the terms of the contract by asking him to play with the reserve team.

This was not stipulated in the contract.

Two clubs

Al Wasl were allowed to sign player Mohammad Jamal Farhan after it was discovered he signed another club as well.
