Dubai: Al Ahli were punished by a hat-trick by former player Madjer as they went down 3-1 to Sporting Lisbon in their final match at the Mundialito de Clubes Beach Soccer event being held in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
The Dubai club were inspired to victory in the inaugural UAE Beach Soccer League last month by the Portuguese former Fifa Beach Soccer Most Valuable Player.
But the Angola-born forward opted to play for Lisbon in Brazil and he scored all three of his team's goals as they saw off Al Ahli and qualified for the knockout stages.
Lisbon's opener came in the third minute and Madjer widened the gap with his second of the day in the second period.
And midway through the third period the lanky Portuguese was at it again to make things next to impossible for the Dubai team. Al Ahli didn't give up and Datinha managed to squeeze a shot home, but that didn't stop Sporting joining Corinthians and Lokomotiv Moscow in the next round.
