Clubs are still hoping the bans will be lifted ahead of the start of the new professional league with many currently in the position of missing key players for their opening matches.

Reda Enayati, Al Nasr's new signing, will miss his club's first match due to a one match suspension picked up when he was playing for Emirates club in Ras Al Khaimah last season.

Nawaf Mubarak of Sharjah club will also be absent for one match after picking up a third yellow card last season.

Naser Yousuf of league champions Al Shabab will miss the club's opener against Al Ahli in the Super Cup on September 14, while Mohammad Khamis of Al Wasl will miss his first league match, following a one-match suspension handed out after he picked up a red card in the club's last league match last season.
