Fujairah: Shaikh Hamad Bin Mohammad Al Sharqi, Ruler of Fujairah and Supreme Council member, has awarded Dh10 million to the members of the UAE national football team for winning the Gulf Cup last Friday in Bahrain.

He congratulated President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, affirming that all this could not be achieved without the great support from his wise leadership. “We are proud of what the national team has achieved both in the performance and the outcome in all matches, reflecting the true spirit of one team binding in the characteristics of harmony and understanding and love among the players,” he said.

He added: “Truly they have made us happy with their performance and sportsmanship. They are young but have achieved greatness with their achievments. We are awaiting more victories in the forthcoming competitions.”

Shaikh Hamad also commended the diligence of the national coach Mahdi Ali in sharpening the team to give their best performance. He also lauded members of the UAE Football Association and the technical and administrative staff of the team.
