Dubai: Lycee Francais International Georges Pompidou (LFIGP), Dubai National School Al Barsha and St Mary’s Catholic School will line up for the defence of their titles at the 2015 Dubai Schools Football Cup from Saturday.
The draws for the second edition of the competition was held on Thursday in the presence of coaches and captains of participating schools.
“Building on last year’s success, we have raised the level of competition this year and invested a lot of time in strengthening the rules, regulations and procedures to ensure they are aligned with the highest standards, which will no doubt take the tournament to an even higher level this year,” said Inspiratus CEO Hussain Murad.
Abdullah Shahdad, Manager of School Sports at the Dubai Sports Council (DSC), congratulated all the entrants.
“We are delighted to have so many schools this year and an even bigger tournament for the girls. The Dubai Schools Cup is an exciting tournament on Dubai’s sporting calendar and we look forward to some excellent matches,” he said.
The DSFC will take place every Saturday from 9am to 5pm until March 7. The tournament is organised by Inspiratus in partnership with the DSC in four age categories.
