Dubai: David Beckham says he will do all he can to win his spot in Carlo Ancelotti's Milan team.
Speaking to the press for the first time since his arrival with the Rossoneri for their winter camp in Dubai, Beckham said he has joined a team of superstars and can't take anything for granted in a side comprising names such as Brazilians Kaka and Ronaldinho, Dutchman Clarence Seedorf and Italian stars Massimo Ambrosini and Andrea Pirlo, whom he will be up against for a spot in the midfield.
"Throughout my career I've been around the best players in the world and I am grateful for this chance to have joined Milan," said Beckham, who is on a three-month loan from MLS side LA Galaxy.
"Milan are a professional team and I've seen the kind of work they do in training. They work very hard and I know I will have to do the same if I want to play here. I am ever ready to play the game, but I want to improve certain things like I want to be on the top of my physical condition.
"It is for the coach to pick me whenever he feels I am ready, but I can say that I am ready and if given a chance I will give 110 per cent for the team."
Beckham's debut for AC Milan could arrive as early as next week.
"He is a very, very good player. A great champion and we'll use him for sure; maybe starting January 11 in the match against Roma," added the silver- haired Ancelotti.
