Al Wasl appoint Emirati coach Khalifa Mubarak to replace Strechko
The Al Wasl club appointed Emirati Khalifa Mubarak to be caretaker coach for the senior team after sacking Croatian coach Juricic Strechko who became the fourth victim of the coache's massacre in the UAE league in the current season.
Dubai: The Al Wasl club appointed Emirati Khalifa Mubarak to be caretaker coach for the senior team after sacking Croatian coach Juricic Strechko who became the fourth victim of the coache's massacre in the UAE league in the current season.
Mubarak who was a former coach of Al Wasl and UAE youth team, became the third coach to take care of the team from the beginning of the season.
Miroslav Beranek of the Czech Republic was the first coach of Al Wasl, he was sacked after two matches.
Strechko replaced him in October and stayed just two months with the team before he was shown the door on Thursday night following a 2–0 defeat by Al Ain in the professional league.
Al Wasl who won the double (President's cup and league title) before two yeras, are now in the eighth place in the league table with 11 points from 10 matches, they were eleminated from the President's cup after losing to Al Jazira 3–1 in the pre–quarterfinals.
