Abu Dhabi: Abdul Rahman Mohammad Al Owais, Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development, opened the du Press Centre of the 18th Gulf Cup yesterday at the Abu Dhabi Armed Forces Officers Club.

Al Owais was accompanied by senior officials and Othman Sultan, the Executive Director of du.

Al Owais said that the du Press Centre is well furnished to serve the media personnel to perform their duties in covering the tournament by providing all necessary facilities for them.

"We are pleased to see all these facilities that will surely help the press men to cover the Gulf Cup and enable them to do their jobs in a good atmosphere."

Al Owais expressed his belief that the UAE's football fans will come in masses to support their country's national team in the matches of the Gulf Cup.

"The UAE's fans do not need an invitation in order to come and do their national duty towards their country's team. I am confident that we will see them at Zayed Sports City on the opening day."

Sultan said that "du was determined to provide state of the art equipment to facilitate the work of the media."
