The Ajman club won promotion to the top flight last season and will be hoping to perform well to stay in the professional league.

"We signed with many good Emirati players as well as foreign players to strengthen our team for the tough coming professional league," Khalifa Al Jerman, Manager of Ajman, told Gulf News yesterday.

"We succeeded in signing with the Al Shaab and former UAE defender Abdul Rahman Ebrahim, also we signed with his teammate Samir Ebrahim and from Al Nasr we signed with Yousuf Mussa and goalkeeper Dawood Saleh."

Al Jerman said the foreign players will arrive on July 20 and leave with the team to a training camp.

"All the players will take part in the training sessions at the club's ground which will be held until leaving for the training camp in the Czech Republic from August 7 to 28. The team will play five warm-up matches during the training camp with Czech Republic teams."

He added, "In our first season in the professional league, we hope to perform well and convince people that we deserve to be one of the best professional league clubs by displaying a fine form."
