Dubai: A top managerial team from Italian giants AC Milan will attend a special orientation seminar for clubs involved with the UAE Football League (UFL) in March this year.

"The team of managers led by organisational director Umberto Gandini has agreed to come and address the UFL clubs during the seminar in March," Romi Gai, CEO of the UFL told Gulf News.

The UFL official has been in close discussions with some of the top European clubs such as AC Milan, Hamburg SV and Bayern Munich, who are all currently conducting winter training sessions here. And the UFL is keen to make maximum use of such visits to boost the fledgling league.

"For me, it is renewing old relationships with these officials and players. But for the UFL, it means forging new contacts that will be helpful for the recognition and growth of the league," Gai remarked.

Gai has been a keen driver of the professionalism concept in all UAE clubs involved with the UFL. For several years, Gai was involved with European and Italian football, his longest tenure serving as the commercial director of multiple champions Juventus.

"There is a tried and tested system that has helped these clubs attain international recognition and success. So we only need to implement this system here," Gai stated. "Having such big clubs here can help our clubs understand how important it is to follow this path of professionalism," he added.
